When the pose feels "right"... Triangle

I'll be the first to admit I don't practice with perfect alignment, and I still have much to learn when it comes to our body's anatomy. But, I will tell you this - Yoga is a PRACTICE, and it is certainly a journey.

This week's pose of the week is Triangle Pose. This pose was once very difficult for me. A pose that bothered my knee, felt strangely uncomfortable around the back of my ankle, and never "felt right". I have READ A LOT about this pose, tried all kinds of adjustments (large and small) to build the strength and comfort in this pose. And I feel now I may have gotten to the point where it finally feels right!

Back in the winter of 2013, when I started Yoga Teacher Training, I was not near as strong as I am today. I had 3 small children 5 and under, and I didn't exactly have a defined practice of my own. I took yoga classes here and there, and did a lot of online yoga videos. But, I was not comfortable just moving freely on my mat. I started training because I just  had a feeling it was the right time.

The photo above was from February 2014, and this my yogi friends is what it looks like to feel - awkward in a yoga pose! Triangle was one of my least favorite poses. Today after much attention to my body inside and out, my yoga practice feels like mine. I am not in my head, worrying about doing things right, I am simply moving with what FEELS right.

That is such an amazing feeling, that I hope all of you reading, at some point in your daily practice begin to feel. The point when poses, don't require a lot of thought, they just "FEEL Right".
